Lets start with the changes and the new features
Changes in Jobs! 1.7
- New Field Types: New field types are added to Jobs! custom field manager. New field types are belo
- Job categories : You can add job categories which you add from "Jobs! Admin Panel>List Categories" as a field to your resumes or jobs
- Job countries : You can add job countries which you add from "Jobs! Admin Panel>List Countries" as a field to your resumes or jobs
- Job locations: You can add job locations which you add from "Jobs! Admin Panel>List Locations" as a field to your resumes or jobs
- URL: You can create URL field from your custom field manager
- Downloadable File: You can create upload field from your custom field manager . The file parameters will come from "Jobs! Configuration>User File System Tab".
- Administration Field: This is a new feature for custom fields. Administration Fields will only be visible in admin panel. Employer or job seekers will not see this field. Shortly, You can create a field for yourself :)
- Job Map : Jobs! will be able to create a job map for you. See the screenshot on right. The screenshot is taken with 2 example jobs. Job Map documentation is also added to our documentation site
(Unlicensed users will see 'Record is not found' message) - Admin Panel Icons : Menu icons was missing in Joomla! 1.7 admin panel menu. It's fixed. There is no more missing image in admin panel menu
- Application Status is being added by the default
- Job Comments & Resume Comments: You will find 2 different plugins called lknJobRatings 1.0.zip and lknResumeRatings 1.0.zip in /package-root/Jobs! Plugins/system/ folder. You can add comments feature to your resumes or jobs . Install these plugins like any other Jobs! plugins (Visit "Jobs! Admin Panel>List Plugins>Select the plugin file and hit the 'Install' button") . You can also visit our documentation page to learn more about these plugins
- lknJobRatings Plugin: This plugin will add comment feature to your job detail pages with this plugin
- lknResumeRatings Plugin: This plugin will add comment feature to your resumes.
- Scheduled Tasks : Jobs! Pro has itws own Scheduled Tasks system. You can consider this as our 5th plugin type. What does it mean for you? Let me give a few examples (Please note that these are examples, There is no active cron plugins for doing these but will be added soon)
- You can do periodic maintance for Jobs!
- You can get periodic reports and e-mail the report to more than one staff or person
- You can send e-mail to your employers before their job expires
- User Interface Imporovements: Jobs! admin panel user interface was having a few minor problems. for example, 'List Resume Fields' page was having a 'Save Order' button.
- Better Performance In Application View Screen: Application view screen in admin panel and employers is highly optimized. It's using less memory and sql. Application screen is nearly 60% faster than pervious Jobs! versions

Do not Forget To Check
- New language strings are added . If you are using Jobs! in a non-English language or modified, Do not forget to translate the new language strings
- A new configuration parameter to "Jobs! Configuration>Home Page Tab>Show Job Map" . This parameter controls your job map
