The Joomla Project announced the release of Joomla 1.5.15 after 3 months from the 1.5.14 version. This release contains a couple of security fixes, so be sure and upgrade as soon as possible. Joomla 1.5 has started to support PHP 5.3 from starting this version.

I was checking joomla.org. I've noticed that Joomla 1.6 Alpha 2 is published.

I would like to say "Congratulations to the Joomla! community on Joomla! 1.6 Alpha 2, and thanks to the Joomla! Developers!"
Have you ever dreamed the updating Joomla version with one click? Today , I've found a new joomla component which does this.

The name of the extension is JUpdateMan and developed by Sam Moffatt.

It's an easy component to use and It's a useful component to use
I'm currently so busy with Jobs! and I'm also working on my 3th baby. I'm currently working on a component which is going to have similar functionality to Yahoo Answes web site. 80% of it is completed

I did not have a chance to watch the Andrew Eddie's presentation about Joomla 1.6 until yesterday.

I want share my optinions about this as a developer and as a Joomla web site owner (I've 3 Joomla made other than instantphp.com)

1. Significant upgrade in server requirements : Joomla 1.6 will need minimum PHP 5.2 and MySQL 5.0.4 . I think this is a good decision that Joomla developer team made. I've personaly left using php 4 and mysql 4 a long time ago

2. The legacy mode will be gone: All extensions must run Joomla 1.6 native. Some small changes to the code will be required to bring extensions in line with the new Access Control List features. You will not be able to run Joomla 1.0 components in legacy as you were in Joomla 1.5.
